The answer to this question really depends on how you define 'valuable'. We'll put the Diamond at the top of our list since it is so widely sought after and traded. The gemstones listed after diamonds below are ordered from the rarest, most expensive and in highest demand:

- Tsavorite (green)
- Garnet and Spessartite (Orange) Garnet
- Tourmaline - Indicolite, Watermelon and Rasberry
- Spinel
- Beryl (Aquamarine, Morganite, Goeshenite)
- Zircon (especially blue, but red, white and golden as well)
- Peridot
- Common Topaz - Sky blue, Swiss blue
- Garnet (red - almandine, pyrope, etc...)
- Jade
- Quartz - Amethyst, Citrine
- Cubic Zirconia and other man-made gemstones.
Although pearls are not gemstones, we'll mention that Salt Water South Sea Pearls are currently more popular than AA or AAA Cultured Pearls.
